Hybrid Work Options Available; ; This position may report in to either our Johnson City Headquarter or our Transmission Offices in Leander, TX depending on home location. Travel between the two locations will periodically be required. 

 

$70,080.00 Minimum Starting Base Pay* + KPI Bonuses + Competitive Benefits

*Qualifications may warrant greater starting base pay within the full pay range.  Individual base pay is determined by experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for construction inspection and construction management of transmission line and substation construction projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site construction inspections for concurrent transmission and substation construction projects.
  • Provide construction management services to ensure key milestones are met and coordinated with other PEC departments.
  • Coordinate and report construction schedules with involved departments.
  • Support specification and documentation of PEC design standards and material standards based on construction observations.
  • Review transmission and substation designs prior to construction to become familiarized with the project design, specification, material, and outage requirements.
  • Support department engineers and project managers in project scope and schedule development.
  • Ensure contract compliance with PEC specifications, standards, and industry practices.
  • Ensure PEC membership’s fiduciary interests are maintained through effective contract management during all construction activities.
  • Ensure safe working practices and environment is adhered to on the construction site.
  • Ensure construction activities are fully complete when invoiced by construction contractor.
  • Ensure environmental and permitting requirements are implemented per the specification.
  • Serve as Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan Inspector for specific projects.
  • Provide weekly construction reports and status to all interested parties.
  • Coordinate construction activities with other PEC departments to ensure construction timelines are maintained.

  • Verify accuracy of drawing markups and as-builts. Hang hard copy control house drawing set and coordinate loading of electronic files in the drawing database.
  • Notify PEC Engineering when projects will not meet contracted schedule.
  • Suggest construction options to recover project schedule.
  • Reject construction activities and materials that do not meet PEC standards, specifications, and designs.
  • Conduct pre-construction meetings and safety tailboards as required.
  • Coordinate with other PEC departments as necessary for completion of the projects.
  • Receive, inventory, inspect, and/or reject material delivered directly to jobsites.
  • Report material received and construction units completed for invoicing and inventory.
  • Coordinate issuing of material to contractor from PEC Warehouse.
  • Coordinate outages and/or mobile transformers as necessary for projects.
  • Provide technical support and information through project closeout.
  • Maintain the security of confidential information
  • Stay abreast of advances in technology
  • Demonstrate regular and prompt attendance
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned

Minimum Qualifications - (Education, Experience)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • Two years of job-related experience
  • Directly related experience may substitute for education
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License
