$31.92 Minimum Starting Base Pay* + KPI Bonuses + Competitive Benefits

*Qualifications may warrant greater starting base pay within the full pay range.  Individual base pay is determined by experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for maintaining and operating equipment for utility project completion.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain and service equipment and vehicles as assigned
  • Transport equipment and material to and from job sites
  • Utilize proper equipment to perform duties such as pole-setting, hole-digging, tree-trimming and clearing rights of way
  • Assist line crews with the construction, maintenance and servicing of lines, poles, and cross-arms
  • Load and unload materials
  • Enter data into electronic systems
  • Maintain hour and travel logs
  • Stay abreast of advances in technology
  • Contact various water departments, gas companies for location of lines
  • Meet Digg Tess
  • Contact members
  • Manage the work for digging operations
  • Operate PEC vehicle(s) for business purposes in accordance with applicable Federal, State, and local law and PEC policies and procedures
  • Maintain driver eligibility through appropriate valid Texas Driver's License and driving record in accordance with PEC policy
  • Maintain the security of confidential information
  • Stay abreast of changes in technology
  • Demonstrate regular and prompt attendance
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned

May be asked to be the leader of digging operations and supervise an assistant

  • Knowledge of using computer systems, which may include setting up and using hardware and software programs, entering data or processing information
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service

  • Skilled in prioritizing and managing changing priorities
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

Minimum Qualifications - (Education, Experience)

  • High School Diploma
  • Three years of heavy equipment training and related work experience
  • Valid Texas Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and Motor Vehicle Report that comply with PEC policy
