*Qualifications may warrant greater starting base pay within the full pay range. Individual base pay is determined by experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. This position operates within PEC's Transmission Control Center.
Position Summary
This position is responsible for performing complex duties required in the implementation, operation, and maintenance of the company’s enterprise systems.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform Active Directory object management, maintain working AD best practices, assist in topology maintenance, troubleshoot AD schema or errors
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and perform upgrades to the Enterprise Systems
- Integrate server operating systems into the network by configuring the networking software components using TCP/IP. Specific components include DNS, SSH, SMTP, SNMP, DHCP, SFTP, certificates and web services.
- Ensure and validate files systems with backups or snapshots. Facilitate recreating or recovery if critical systems.
- Examine and solve issues that have been escalated within the team
- Manage disaster recovery platforms and ensure their availability. Perform proactive maintenance and testing.
- Configure and supports enterprise-wide software applications
- Monitor systems and remediate security usability issues. Maintain monitoring solutions.
- Maintain and deploy both physical and virtual system in different network segments
- Install, upgrade, and configure hardware as needed
- Assist and maintain antivirus and endpoint security
- Design and maintain documentation relevant to standardization of team practices and procedures
- Administer patching and backup software, other enterprise software and perform patch management systems

- Install, maintain, and monitor security measures
- Participate in preparing or assisting in writing bid specifications for equipment, interfacing with vendors during procurement evaluations, and ensuring that maintenance contracts for designated equipment are renewed in a timely manner
- Maintain the security of confidential information

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of using computers and computer systems, including hardware and software to set up functions, enter data or process information
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction
- Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, SFTP, routing, firewalls, e-mail, distributed authentication, VPN’s, telecommunications issues, and other network administration concerns, particularly in complex LAN and WAN environments
- Knowledge of basic virtualization and deployment principles
- Ability to follow technical instructions, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to solve system-related problems by using diagnostic techniques and protocols
- Skilled in time management
- Skilled in handling multiple tasks, prioritizing and changing priorities

Minimum Qualifications - (Education, Experience)
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
- Directly related experience may substitute for education
- Six years of database, network administration, or system administration experience
- Linux server administration, preferred
